"I spent thirty years learning that most of what ails a person answers to the same few things: warmth, quiet, a steady hand, and someone who will not hurry you."
— Dr. F.

A Few House Habits
The spa keeps a quieter clock than the rest of the world. A few habits help it run.
Arriving. Please come 10 to 15 minutes ahead of your appointment. There is a short form, and a chair worth sitting in before your hour begins. If you arrive late, we'll give you what remains of the hour at the full price, so the guest after you isn't kept waiting.
The quiet. Phones silenced, voices low. This is one of the few rooms left where nothing needs answering. We'd encourage you to let it stay that way.
Your comfort. Tell your therapist about injuries, allergies, medical conditions, pregnancy, or anywhere you'd rather not be touched. During the treatment, speak up about pressure, temperature, music, or position; the hour is yours, and adjusting it is never an imposition.
Age. Spa guests must be 18 or older.
What to wear. Whatever suits you. You'll have privacy to prepare, and you'll be professionally draped throughout, with only the area being worked on uncovered.
Cancellations. Plans change; we understand. With more than 24 hours' notice, you may cancel or reschedule at no charge. Within 24 hours of your appointment, the service is non-refundable and the full treatment price applies; a missed appointment is treated the same way. Two or more treatments, or parties of three, require 48 hours' notice. A card is held at booking to reserve your time and is charged only if this policy applies.
Gratuity. A 20% gratuity is added to every treatment and goes to your therapist in full. If you'd prefer to adjust it, up or down, simply say so at checkout.
One firm thing. The Folsom Spa is a safe, professional, and respectful place for guests and therapists alike. Any inappropriate behavior ends the session immediately, the full treatment price is charged, and the therapist has the complete backing of the house.
Afterward. Rise slowly. Drink water. Take a few minutes before you rejoin the day; it will keep.
We look forward to keeping the hour for you.
— Dr. Folsom, keeper of the house
The Doctor's Note
"I never believed a person got well by doing more. You get well by stopping — by letting warmth and quiet and a steady pair of hands do the work your own two hands have been doing too long. That is the whole of my practice, and the whole of this spa. Come as you are. Leave lighter." — Dr. Dudley Folsom
